In the letter Alma Mahler appeals to Geiringer to mediate for her in a matter of conflicting agreements that she had inadvertently made regarding the mechanical rights to Gustav Mahler's tenth symphony. Having signed a contract with Associated Music Publishers in 1950, Alma still wants to receive her income from the mechanical rights through the American League of Authors and Composers from Austria, which handled mechanical rights for her in general.
